PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for easily specifying an object represented inside an image. SOLUTION: An image processing device is provided with a reference characteristic data storing part for storing a plurality of reference characteristic data, corresponding to a plurality of physical objects, a difference data storing part for storing difference data regarding the points of difference between mutually similar physical objects of the plurality of physical objects, a characteristics data extracting part for extracting characteristic data indicating characteristics of the object from an object image expressing the object, a candidate selecting part for selecting a candidate physical object to be used as the object from among the plurality of physical objects by using the characteristics data and the reference characteristic data corresponding to the plurality of physical objects, and a difference information providing part for providing difference information, indicated by the difference data between a plurality of candidate physical objects, when a plurality of candidate physical objects are selected.
