PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transaction device capable of resuming operation in a short time, even when anomaly is detected, when an attendant or the like is attaching a new bill storing cassette filled with cash in an examination processing. SOLUTION: When starting of an examination process is selected in an attendant operation display part 14, a cassette ID and the number of stored bills of the first bill storing cassette read from the first bill storing cassette are stored in a storing part 15. When anomaly of a second bill storing cassette, attached to a bill depositing and dispensing part 13, is detected during the examination process, it is confirmed that the removed first bill storing cassette is attached again, the number of stored bills of the first bill storing cassette stored in the storing part 15 is restored in a cash counter, and transaction is continued by the reattached first bill storing cassette.
