PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a toroidal continuously variable transmission of double cavity type capable of realizing reduction of its size and weight, improvement of efficiency of transmission, and making them stand one by one at high dimension at the same time. SOLUTION: In this toroidal continuously variable transmission, a pressing device for ensuring facial pressure of a traction part is constituted of a first pressing device 25 and a second pressing device 26. The first pressing device 25 among them is provided between an input rotary shaft 1 and an input side disc 2a on one side, and the input side disc 2a is pressed against an output side disc 11a on a front step side. The second pressing device 26 is provided between a pair of output side discs 11a and 11b, and these both output side discs 11a, 11b are pressed in the direction in which they leave from each other. Consequently, interference among each disc 2a, 2b, 11a, 11b and a trunnion is made difficult. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
