<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device and optical communication apparatus capable of obtaining excellent communication property. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical device 22 placing a surface light-emitting laser element 242 on a mount substrate 241, connection patterns 244a-244d for transmitting differential signals for driving the surface light-emitting laser element 242 are formed on the mount substrate 241. The cathode side of the surface light-emitting laser element 242 is placed on the connection pattern 244c. Its anode is connected with the connection pattern 244a by a bonding wire. A stab 244as is formed in the connection pattern 244a. The methods of connecting the surface light-emitting laser element 242 and the connection patterns are different at a cathode side and at an anode side. Even when a phase difference of the differential signals may be varied by providing the stab 244as to delay a signal supplied to the anode side, the phase difference of the differential signals supplied to the surface light-emitting laser element 242 can be corrected, thereby obtaining excellent communication property. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
