<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improved treatment of sitosterolemia, capable of decreasing sterol concentration in plasma and tissue and preventing relating weakened physical effects, or a method of decreasing plasma concentration or tissue concentration of non-cholesterol sterol such as phytosterol and 5α-stanol. <P>SOLUTION: This method of treating or preventing sitosterolemia comprises a step of administering to a mammal requiring sitosterolemia treatment an effective amount of at least one sterol absorption inhibitor, pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate of the inhibitor, prodrug of the inhibitor or of pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate of the inhibitor, or mixture thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
