PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calcium silicate formed body using a material, which can improve frost damage resistance, has a thermal and chemical stability, and is easily formed, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: The calcium silicate formed body is obtained by adding an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer having an ethylene polymerization ratio of 25 to 50 mol% to a mixture of a siliceous raw material, a calcareous raw material, a reinforcing fiber and the other nonreactive packing, adding water thereto, so as to be slurry, thereafter forming the slurry, and performing hydrothermal reaction in an autoclave.
