PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method of fly dust discharged from a lime kiln which is capable of changing the fly dust to lime grain or a soil conditioner having a commercial value by changing the color of the dark gray or black fly dust discharged from the lime kiln to white color, and to provide an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: The apparatus for treating the fly dust discharged from the lime kiln is provided with a horizontal type heat transfer pipe 1 which can supply a combustion air, a screw conveyor 2 which is installed in the heat transfer pipe 1 and an electric heater 4 installed outside the the heat transfer pipe 1. The fly dust discharged from the lime kiln is calcined during the carriage from the entrance 1A to the exit 1B of the heat transfer pipe 1 while being agitated by the screw conveyor 2 for fly dust.
