PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a sealed battery, which can manufacture the battery that can prevent sealing property of an outer can tap closing portion from deteriorating and a battery output from decreasing, and which can improve quality of battery and yield of manufacturing. SOLUTION: After an electrode 20 is completed, the length of a lead 11 is adjusted, then, the electrode 20 is inserted into an outer can 21, and an opening of the outer can 21 is closed by a sealing lid 19 of a center pin 17 and a gasket 18 including the sealing lid 19 therein. A stretched out end of the lead 11 adjusted in length is pinched between the outer surface of the gasket 18 and the inner wall of the outer can 21. The stretched out end of the lead 11 is crimped and held by diameter reduction deformation of the outer can 21 at an area where a lead tab 11 is pinched. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
