摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electrolyte capable of markedly reducing the aging property degradation of an electrochemical element, in particular an electrochemical capacitor. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the electrolyte for an electrochemical element includes a step of separating and refining alkyl imidazole (a), having an alkyl group at least in first and second places from a reaction product of glyoxal or its acetal, or its ketal (d1), ammonium (d2), aldehyde (d3), and primary amine (d4), preferably by distillation, thereby specifying the content of the alkyl imidazole (a0), having a hydrogen atom substituted for the second place to be 15 wt.% or lower for a total weight of (a) and (a0).
