PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and light drive unit which drives the target of drive silently, a photocontroller whose lens is driven along an optical axis, and a photograph device which takes the image of the light of a subject. SOLUTION: This drive unit is equipped with a rod 533 which extends in the direction of the optical axis of a taking lens 20, being attached to the focus lens 23 of drive target, a fixed holder 551 which holds and releases the rod 533, being fixed in the immobile position to the drive of the focus lens 23, a mobile holder 552 which is shiftable in the direction of the above optical axis to the fixed holder 551 and performs the hold and release of the rod 533 with timing slid from the timing of the hold and release by the fixed holder 551, and a drive 553 which drives the mobile holder 552 to the fixed holder 551.
