PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber membrane module which, during washing of the hollow fiber membrane, a suspended solid separated from the outer surface of the hollow fiber membrane can easily be discharged and has improved durability of the hollow fiber membrane. SOLUTION: In this hollow fiber membrane module, both ends of a hollow fiber membrane bundle are each bonded in a bundle form. One of the bundled bonded ends is fixed (4a) within a cylindrical container (3) with the hollow fiber membrane end open. In the other bundled bonded end, the hollow fiber membrane bundle is divided into a plurality of small bundle units and is bonded (4b) in a bundle form, and the hollow fiber membrane end faces are collectively blocked within the small bundled unit. Further, filament-like materials or rod-like materials (9) are also provided within each of the small bundles, and both ends thereof are each bonded and fixed to the bundled bonded end.
