The device is driven by kinetic energy of a falling body actuated manually. The falling body is fastened to a rope or a chain, which is led across a guide roller within the upper range of the device. A further guide roller is provided for returning the attachment rope which can be pulled into the horizontal direction. The falling body or the rope and or the chain for pulling up the falling body are locked, if the falling body reaches an upper position such as the initial position and can then be retarded either temporally or can be released manually.
