A plasma display panel comprising front face plate (2) having a display electrode, a dielectric layer and a protective layer superimposed on a front face glass substrate and, arranged opposite to the front face plate (2), rear face plate (10) having an address electrode, a partition wall and a phosphor layer superimposed on a rear face glass substrate, the front face plate (2) and rear face plate (10) at the periphery thereof sealed by means of sealing material (50) so as to define an electric discharge space, wherein the sealing material (50) contains at least one of bismuth oxide, molybdenum oxide and tungsten oxide as a glass component.
