The method involves producing situation data for describing an actual driving situation by a situation data determination unit (3) that is connected with an information processing unit (2), and determining a limited amount of situation-based driving manoeuvre by a motor vehicle. An unification between the motor vehicle and a drive takes place for executing the single situation-based driving manoeuvre. A set of operating possibilities is provided to the drive for activating the driving manoeuvre, and an operating command of the driver is detected for selecting the driving manoeuvre.
