An electromechanical generator 500 comprising a resonator 554 comprising a vibratable mass 514, a biassing device (spring arms 518,520,522) connected to the vibratable mass, a power transduction device 540,506,508 for converting mechanical vibrational movement of the vibratable mass into electrical power, and a vibrating mount 502 for supporting the vibratable mass, biassing device and power transduction device, the vibratable mount incorporating at least one spring 512 and being connected to a support 510 for mounting the generator to a vibratable body from which electrical energy is to be harvested. The transduction device may comprises a coil 504 flanked by magnets 506,508 or alternatively a piezoelectric system may be used. |
