<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record an arbitrary frame in successive photography with high definition. SOLUTION: When the successive photography is instructed with a trigger 38 for successive photography, an output image of a camera signal processing circuit 16 is stored temporarily in a moving picture frame memory 20, compressed by a moving picture compressing and expanding circuit 18 by the motion JPEG system, and recorded on a recording medium 28. When a still picture release 40 is operated during the successive photography, a system control circuit 26 stores image information on a corresponding frame in a frame memory 24 while carrying on the moving picture compression by the moving picture compressing and expanding circuit 18 and recording to a recording medium 28, and writes a still picture photography flag on the recording medium 28. On the successive photography, the system control circuit 26 reads the image information out of the still picture frame memory 24, compresses the still picture by a still picture compressing and expanding circuit 22, and records it in an area different from the moving picture recording area on the recording medium 28.</p> |
