OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR ELECTRIC FURNACE WITH HYDROCARBON ATMOSPHERE

An operating procedure for the electric furnace with hydrocarbon atmosphere involves periodical carrying out of burning of the electric furnace with the use of air medium and burning stopping at the optimal degree of soot accumulation in this electric furnace, at that the electric furnace burning isoverlapped in time with its kindling. Burning is at first carried out with the use of the air, and then of the combustion materials, which are obtained in the gas generator from the mixture of the natural gas and air at the ratio of 1:8. The burning is concluded when the resistance of the check heater will be equal to its value after the carrying out of the preceding burning. The reliability of electric insulation of the heaters from the electric furnace lining is checked before the starting of kindling and next burning. The metal articles without rigid requirements to the content of their surface layer are used for the acceleration of removal of the corpuscular oxygen, which oxidizes these articles during their thermal treatment, from the furnace atmosphere.
