The proposed method can be used for testing tightness of hollow articles, specifically of fuel tanks of rockets and instrumentation modules of spacecrafts. The method consists in connecting the article to a measuring vessel, filling the article and the vessel with gas under working pressure, and determining the change of the parameter that characterizes the tightness of the article within a specified time interval. To fill the measuring vessel and the article with gas, light-volatile liquid, such as vacuum oil, in the vessel is used. As the parameter that characterizes the tightness of the article. the gas density is used. In the testing process, the measuring vessel is exposed to vibrations. The proposed method is distinctive by its enhanced accuracy.
