PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hammer assembly stopper unit for a grand piano with a muting function, which makes it possible to precisely and easily adjust the check position of a hammer shank with a buffer material. SOLUTION: The hammer assembly stopper unit with the muting function, which rotates the buffer material selectively to a position where the buffer material comes into contact with the hammer assembly to check its operation right before strings are hit and a position where the buffer material does not come into contact with the hammer assembly to perform switching between a muting state and a soundable state, is equipped with a rotary shaft which is supported on a musical instrument main body to extend in a key array direction, an intermediate member which supports the buffer material so that the interval to the rotary shaft is adjustable, and a fixation member which fixes the relative position of the intermediate member with respect to the rotary shaft.
