<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly start drive control on a synchronous motor even if there is erroneous detection of a magnetic pole position before an output pulse signal of position detecting means initially changes. <P>SOLUTION: A motor control device is implemented using the position detecting means for outputting a pulse signal corresponding to a magnetic pole position of a synchronous motor, a time that has lapsed after change in the level of the output signal of the position detecting means is counted, and the magnetic pole position of the synchronous motor is computed; and driving of the synchronous motor is controlled based on the computed magnetic pole position. A predetermined current is passed through the synchronous motor to rotate the motor. After the level of the output signal of the position detecting means initially changes, drive control is started on the synchronous motor based on the computed magnetic pole position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
