<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-phase power conversion apparatus using a two-phase current detecting system and protecting itself and the load, even if a three-phase unbalance occurs due to phase failure. <P>SOLUTION: The three-phase power conversion apparatus comprises a power converter 4 for outputting three-phase AC power and driving an AC electric motor 2; a current detector 5 for detecting the output currents in two phases among three phases in the power converter 4; and a control means 6 for controlling the output from the power converter 4. The control means 6 has a means for adding the output currents in two phases detected by the current detector 5 and calculating the output current in the other phase, an adding means 22 for adding the absolute values of the output currents in two phases and the other phase for a predetermined period, and a phase failure detecting means for determining that the output currents in three phases have the phase failure, if at least one deviation between outputs in two phases among three phases obtained by the adding means 22 is a predetermined value or larger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
