PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video audio recording apparatus and a video audio recording method capable of simply executing a transition effect process at the same time with photographing. SOLUTION: A setting section 121 of a transition effect section 106 registers a transition effect according to an entry selected by an operation section 102 from items of a transition effect setting menu, an extract section 122 extracts a region wherein the transition effect process is overlappingly executed, and an effect processing section 123 composes a video signal received from a video input device 103 and an audio signal received from an audio input device 104 with a video signal and an audio signal having been recorded on the region extracted by the extract section 122 to execute the transition effect processing after "photographing restart".
