PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diaphragm for a speaker, the strength of which can be improved while an increase in the whole weight of the diaphragm is suppressed. SOLUTION: A main body of the speaker diaphragm vibrated when a speaker apparatus is driven includes a second layer configured with a metal in addition to a first layer configured with woven fabric and a third layer configured with paper. The second layer configured with the metal acts like a reinforcing material of the diaphragm and is partially provided to a prescribed range at an inner periphery part of the main body. That is, a three-layer structure including the second layer is adopted for only the prescribed range at the inner periphery part. Thus, the inner circumference part to which a greater force is exerted and which is displaced at a large amplitude when the speaker is driven can effectively be reinforced. The reinforcement of the inner periphery by the metal can ensure the strength of the speaker apparatus and improve the sound quality. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
