PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen gas leak detector capable of detecting hydrogen gas reached to a prescribed concentration less than an explosion limit, without requiring complicated structure for detecting the hydrogen gas concentration. SOLUTION: This hydrogen gas leak detector 1 for detecting hydrogen gas leakage in the atmosphere is provided with a detecting part 2 volume-expanded by contacting with gas containing hydrogen to disconnected, and the detecting part 2 is formed of single metal or an alloy having a hydrogen storage property.
