<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need of excessively increasing the size of a foundation for a snow fence in consideration of headwind by reducing resistance while the headwind blows. <P>SOLUTION: This blowoff type snow fence is formed by mounting a plurality of snow protection plates between columns at intervals in the vertical direction and aslant so that their lee side (road side) is lowered. The lower surface of the snow protection plate 13 is formed in a projected shape swelled downward as a whole including not only its upper half part 13a but also its lower half part 13b. The upper surface thereof is formed flat or in a projected shape swelled upward as a whole. Since a distance between the lower surface of the snow protection plate and a position from which the wind coming to the lower surface of the snow protection plate is peeled off the lower surface, the lowering of the pressure on the rear surface (lower surface side) while the headwind blows is less, and a resistance applied to the snow protection plate 14 is small. Since the upper surface is formed flat or in the projected shape swelled upward, the possibility of occurrence of a resistance against the wind flowing on the upper surface is also small. In general, the resistance while the headwind blows in which the resistance is larger than in a following wind is small.
