<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element which is low in cost, easy to produce, high in light conversion efficiency and usable as a dye-sensitized solar cell. <P>SOLUTION: The photoelectric conversion element comprises a laminated layer of a transparent electrode layer 1, a semiconductor layer 2, a dye adsorption layer 3 which is made by an adsorption in the semiconductor constituting the semiconductor layer 2, an electrolyte layer 4, and opposing electrode layer 5 in this order. The dye above mentioned is carbon black.
