<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control induction electric motors with various specifications by changing combinations thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A control unit for controlling the multiphase induction electric motor comprises switching elements Q1-Q4 bridge-connected, two power input terminals TP for supplying DC power to an input of a bridge, two output terminals TO for connecting a single-phase magnetic field winding to an output of the bridge, a gate controlling section 31 for applying an on signal or an off signal to gates of the switching elements and controlling the direction and the magnitude of a current flowing to the magnetic field winding connected to two output terminals, based on an instruction signal externally input, and an instruction input terminal TC for inputting the instruction signal applied to the gate controlling section.
