PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether a gripping position of a steering is suitable for traveling a curve existing at a front side and to issue warning. SOLUTION: In the vehicle control device in the present embodiment, the gripping position of the steering at present is detected in front of the curve existing in front of the vehicle, and it is determined whether steering required for curving (traveling) on the curve in front can be performed. When the steering cannot be performed, it is determined that the gripping position of the steering is not suitable, warning of the matter is issued to a driver. Further, when a vehicle speed exceeds a threshold value, deceleration is performed and control of a steering angle for traveling on the curve is made. The determination whether the gripping position of the steering is suitable is performed according to curvature of the curve, the vehicle speed, and a gripping pressure of the steering.
