PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motherboard structure which is uniformly pressed to obtain a panel with an excellent parallelism and can eliminate outward shape defects and driving characteristic defects; and also to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The motherboard structure 11 is formed by putting two motherboards one over the other and used to manufacture at least one information display panel which displays information of an image etc., by moving a display medium by the steps of: charging the display medium between two opposing substrates at least one of which is transparent; and applying an electric field to the display medium. The structure 11 is characterized in that a gap securing pattern 21 for keeping the gap between the two motherboards constant is arranged at a part except a panel formation part.
