PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the universal joint which a grease gun can supply with grease even if the overall length of a cross shaft is shortened. SOLUTION: The universal joint 50 has a cross shaft 1 with two shaft lines z1, z2 to cross mutually and two yokes. The cross shaft 1 has: four trunnions 2; a seal slide contact face 2c; and a base end part 6 located on a central side from the seal slide contact face 2c and protruded outside of the seal slide contact face 2c. A lubricant supply hole 17 to communicate with the inner part of a roller bearing 3 through a grease supply passage 9 closer to the center than to the base end part 6 is provided. The grease nipple 8 connected with a grease gun 10 is fixed to this lubricant supply hole 17 when supplying grease. The base end part 6 is equipped with the grease gun 10 and a recess 6a to prevent the interference with the base end part 6 when supplying the grease. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
