PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe holding implement which facilitates a change in the attitude of a pipe required when the pipe is lowered in a suspended state into a vertical shaft. SOLUTION: This pipe holding implement (10) is used for lowering the pipe in the suspended state so that the pipe (12) used for being jacked into the ground can be fed into the vertical shaft (14) from the ground. The implement (10) comprises a rod (16) which can be inserted into a pair of holes (24) formed at the longitudinal central part of the pipe and elongated in the radial direction of the pipe, and a gate-shaped frame (18) for supporting both ends of the rod.
