Glass for covering electrodes, which consists esentially of, as represented by mol % based on the following oxides, from 25 to 60% of B₂O₃, from 0 to 18% of SiO₂, from 0 to 60% of ZnO, from 0 to 18% of BaO, from 3 to 15% of Bi₂O₃ and from 0 to 10% of Al₂O₃, and contains no PbO.
