The system for laying sets of paving slabs (1) of two different colors which have undulating sides which fit together comprises laying the first sort in a rectangle made up of rows of 11 slabs and columns of 23 slabs. A row of half-slabs (1a, 32a) is used to edge the rectangle and produce a transition to slabs of the second color.
