PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive apparatus which is remarkably enhanced in impact resistance so as to bear against large impact at drop time. SOLUTION: In the disk drive apparatus, which is provided with: a disk 110 being rotation-driven; a head actuator 120 supporting a head 123 through a suspension 130 while making the head 123 perform seek operation for the disk 110; and a housing 200 for housing the disk 110 and the head actuator 120, a tab 140 is provided at the top end of the suspension 130, and besides, a lock member 220 is provided in the housing 200. A head lock mechanism 300 is constituted so the tab 140 is locked by the lock member 220 to prevent the head 123 from dropping toward the disk 110 when the head 123 is floated from the disk surface by the prescribed height by impact applied to the housing 200.
