PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent temporary frosting of an evaporator and to draw out cooling capacity to the maximum. SOLUTION: Target temperature TEO of the evaporator is computed at a step S100. Discharge capacity of a variable capacity compressor is P1-controlled in accordance with temperature deviation En of a temperature detection value TEfin of the evaporator and TEO by a fin thermistor at a step S110. The discharge capacity of the variable capacity compressor is forcibly lowered down to a working downward value at a step S130 when actual temperature TEfin of the evaporator is lowered to threshold value temperature (-0.5°C) in the neighborhood of a freezing point. This working downward value is a value near the minimum discharge capacity at which a refrigerating cycle can stably work. Consequently, it is possible to prevent occurrence of temporary frosting against sudden load decrease of the evaporator and to draw out air conditioner performance to the maximum.
