PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely transmit a side collision load from a roof side rail side to the cross section center of a roof reinforce having a closed cross section. SOLUTION: The upper structure has the structure comprises roof side rails 14 extending forward and backward of a vehicle on both sides in a vehicle width direction of a roof 20 installed at a top of the vehicle body, a roof reinforce 16 with a closed structure installed on a compartment 40 side of the roof 20 between both of the side roof side rails 14, and a load transmitting member 18 mounted on the roof side rail 14 side and provided with a load transmission end 18A opposite to a side 16A in a vehicle width direction of the roof reinforce 16. When a side collision load is inputted, the load transmission end 18A of the load transmitting member 18 comes into contact with the side 16A of the roof reinforce 16, so that the side collision load can be surely transmitted to the cross section center of the roof reinforce 16.
