PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively correct a deviation of an image recording position caused by a behavior of a recording medium when the back end of the recording medium comes out from a pair of rollers on the upstream side in conveying the recording medium. SOLUTION: Even when the recording media are excessively conveyed, in accordance with the amount of conveyance of the recording media detected by a means for detecting the amount of conveyance, among a plurality of recording elements of a recording head, a range for use of the recording element is shifted by using the recording element which is not used for recording. As the deviation of the position of the recording element to the recording medium is corrected thereby, it is prevented that the position of the recording image or the like is deviated from the recording position until that time. In addition, by using a selected value based on a corrected value selecting pattern of the amount of conveyance selected by a user as the corrected value, a correction of the deviation of the position to the recording medium is performed. It is possible to decrease the deviation of the position of the ink dot of the recorded image or the like based on the difference in accuracy of constitutional components of the recording apparatus.
