<p>The engine has a valve to supply combustion air to a cylinder (2) through a channel and to remove exhaust gas from the cylinder through another channel depending on rotation angle of a crank shaft. The valve has a pipe (9), which lies against a counter surface (8) with its rotation surface. An opening (7) that can be closed by the pipe is formed in the wall of the cylinder within the counter surface. The channels extend through the pipe to two openings (20, 21) in the rotation surface, and the two openings in the rotation surface align to the opening in the wall by the rotation of the pipe.</p>
