ELECTRICALLY POWERED AUXILIARY STEERING DEVICE FOR AUTOMOBILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrically powered auxiliary steering device for an automobile capable of preventing a backlash from occurring.

SOLUTION: The electrically powered auxiliary steering device for the automobiles comprises: a steering shaft connected to a steering wheel of the automobile on one side of which a worm wheel is formed; a pinion shaft the upper step of which is connected to the steering shaft; a torque sensor for sensing torque generated by the rotation of the steering shaft; an electronic controller for receiving electric signals from the torque; a motor controlled to drive by the electronic controller; and a worm shaft and the worm wheel on the peripheral surface of which a worm is formed and contained in a housing. The electrically powered auxiliary steering device for the automobiles further comprises: a deceleration mechanism driven by the motor; a supporting member surrounding the peripheral surface at the end side of the worm shaft; and an elastic member for adding elastic power to the supporting member in a tilting direction with respect to the worm shaft.
