PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase combustion energy of a cylinder in an expansion stroke at the time of restart, and improve starting performance of an engine. SOLUTION: At the time of restart of a so-called reverse rotation restart-type engine, during the reverse rotation of the engine, the first fuel is injected into the cylinder in the expansion stroke favorably at the timing about 90 degrees CA before a top dead center, thus the vaporization and atomization in the interior of the cylinder, which is in the expansion stroke, are promoted and the pressure in the cylinder is reduced. Then the last fuel is injected into the cylinder in the expansion stroke at the timing about 50 degrees CA before the top dead center, and large turbulence energy is generated by the injection. Thus, high-speed homogeneous combustion is performed, and kinetic energy of the cylinder in the expansion stroke is increased. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
