PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition having high transparency and high heat resistance, capable of being formed into a film having a highly accurate thickness, and especially useful for forming a resin film for an easily treatable optical waveguide; and to provide the resin film for the optical material using the composition and an optical waveguide using the film. SOLUTION: The resin composition for the optical material contains (A) a base polymer, (B) a photopolymerizable compound and (C) a photopolymerization initiator, and the photopolymerizable compound (B) contains a compound having two or more epoxy groups in the molecule.
