PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the whole management by sharing the file management and the object management. SOLUTION: A video object (VOB) including image information is recorded in a video file (VF), and a non-recorded area is allowed in it to record another VOB. An AV address is set up in the VF, and recording and reproducing video management data includes the top address information of the above VOB shown in the AV address. The VOB includes a dummy state for later data recording, and the information on the file system includes a file entry (FE) describing the recorded position of the above VF.
