PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic toner which is improved in electrostatic charge stability by improving the fine dispersibility of the magnetic substance in a toner particle and enables maintenance of higher image stably for a long period of time even at the time of grain size reduction of a toner grain size and application of high speed printing. SOLUTION: The magnetic toner having at least a binder resin and including magnetic iron oxide fine powder and magnesium oxide fine powder is characterized in that the magnetic iron oxide fine powder has a peak at 42.9 deg of a Bragg angle (2θ±0.2 deg) in CuKαX-ray diffraction and that the half band width of the peak is≤0.40 deg.
