PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light detection device capable of accurately detecting light from a detection object with a simple circuit constitution, concerning the light detection device that detects light by detecting the heat generated, according to incident light. SOLUTION: This device has the first detection part 111 for outputting a signal corresponding to incident light from the detection object, the second detection part 112 for outputting a signal corresponding to incident light from surrounding circumstances, a differential amplifier 123 for outputting the difference between an output signal from the first detection part 111 and an output signal from the second detection part 112, a comparator 124 for comparing an output from the differential amplifier 123 with a reference voltage and outputting an output signal inverted, corresponding to a comparison result, and a temperature compensation means 125, R31 for performing temperature compensation by changing the reference voltage corresponding to the temperature of the first detection part 111.
