PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy both of improving a response to an air mass flow and reducing detection errors of the air mass flow when intake air pulses, at a low cost. SOLUTION: A method is provided which carries out a conversion process once to obtain the air mass flow and performs a lag filtering process before subjecting an electric signal to the lag filtering process, and then subjects the electric signal to the lag filtering process and performs a lead filtering process. Since only the lag filtering process for a voltage signal which requires a high-speed operation, can be operated at a high speed, and since it becomes unnecessary to compose a filter having a complex characteristic to the voltage signal, an air mass flow detecting device can be made up at the low cost.
