PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor driving circuit which enables a redundant constitution without requiring a plurality of high performance CPUs. SOLUTION: A monitoring IC 1 diagnoses a main CPU 2, and when the main CPU 2 is in a normal operation, the main CPU 2 performs an operation process which is required for the driving of a motor 8, and a driving signal is outputted from a main printer driver 3. When the monitoring IC 1 detects an abnormality of the main CPU 2, the abnormality of the main CPU 2 is reported to a backup CPU 4, and the output is switched by a switching circuit 7 so that the motor 8 may be driven by a driving signal from a backup printer driver 5. The backup CPU 4 in which the report from the monitoring IC 1 has been inputted performs the operation process required for the driving of the motor 8, and the driving signal is outputted from the backup printer driver 5.
