PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carpet which is handled satisfactorily in a manufacturing process and which is excellent in deodorization durability. SOLUTION: This tufted pile carpet primary base fabric is obtained by imparting a binder to a nonwoven fabric where a group of long fibers are accumulated. In the binder. The tufted pile carpet primary ground fabric contains an iron (II) chelate compound in the binder, and a tufted carpet is obtained by implanting pile yarns to the primary ground fabric.
