New organopolysiloxanes have units with 0-3 monovalent, optionally substituted hydrocarbyl groups R, bound to silicon by a carbon atom, and 0-3 halogen, hydroxy or optionally substituted hydrocarbyloxy substituents X, in which not less than 50 of the units are have 1 R substituent, and are liquid at 20[deg]C and a pressure of 900-1100 hPa. New organopolysiloxanes have units of formula (I) and are liquid at 20[deg]C and a pressure of 900-1100 hPa: R aX bSiO ( 4 - a - b ) / 2 (I); R groups independently : monovalent, Si-C-bound, optionally substituted hydrocarbyl groups; X groups independently : halogen or -OR 1>; R 1>H or optionally substituted hydrocarbyl; a : 1 in at least 50 of the units, otherwise 0, 1, 2 or 3; b : 0, 1, 2 or 3; (a+b) : at least 3 .
