The device (1) has a mounting part (2) with a section (3) for retaining an elongated end of a load carrier (19) turned away from a tow coupling, and another section (4) for retaining a ball of the coupling. The sections are adjusted and arranged relative to each other in such a manner that the ball is arranged on an extension of a longitudinal axis of the end of the carrier in an assembled condition. The mounting part is made of steel. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a load carrier for fitting at a tow coupling (2) an adapter for hanging of two-wheeler at a load carrier.
