<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording and reproducing device and an optimum recording power determination method of an optical disk, which properly select only reliable data, and can determine the optimum recording power more accurately than ever. <P>SOLUTION: A modulation factor measuring part 15 produces a group of samples by arranging recording power data and modulation factor data paired therewith in ascending order of the recording power data; when a difference value between adjacent two modulation factor data is defined as a first value, a first sorting part 17 sorts out the group of samples based on a difference value between adjacent two first values; a second sorting part 18 sorts out the group of samples further based on a ratio of a variation of the modulation factor data to a variation of the recording power data; a modulation factor expression calculation part 19 calculates a modulation factor expression based on the sorted group of samples; a γ-expression calculation part 20 calculates a γ-expression based on the modulation factor expression; and an optimum recording power determination part 21 determines the optimum recording power based on the γ-expression. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
